It worked for a while for me, then one of my Macs got confused and created a second Mobile Documents directory and from then on would ask for my iCloud credentials which was annoying. I fixed that once, using some cunning removing-and-adding-of-iCloud but it could come back. How are you still using MobileMe? Just via web, or have you stuck to Snow Leopard?

It's sounding like Mountain Lion might reintroduce some of the lost MobileMe syncing functionality – look at the "Many USers One Account" section in this article at MacWorld. That would be great if true.

I have to agree with James. SoundCloud, even though growing by the day, doesn't really attract a lot of those kinda people. As a site mainly for sharing music and not a lot else, it seems to have more a feel of community, than a public website.

Let's just hope it stays that way.

very interesting. i think aggressive / nasty trolling is mostly practiced by people who don't know what they're talking about, i.e. kids involved in a 'scene' and not necessarily actual music fans. Soundcloud doesn't support loads of pics, video and interactive features like other social networking sites, so i'm guessing it doesn't attract those so are more into the scene than the music itself, thus weeding out the nasty trollers.

just a thought...?

Thanks for your comment. Wordpress seems to have removed your URL but it's available via your username!

The other interesting aspect is that the circle model isn't scaling well for well-known users, who see hundreds of people adding them to circles every day...

hi Philip, i could not agree with you more. this massaging and predicting circles and people before publishing is as time consuming as it is useless.

secondly, on the listening side, another major roadblock: why should i filter people rather than content?

i wrote some thoughts along this line on my blog, check it out ...

Hey Phil,

Good points; I think you're right; given the close attention Apple pays to interface design, it seems unlikely they'd push the itunes design out of synch with the other osx elements unless there was some general movement towards an updated look and feel.
